Dario Meta’s performing activity has led him to play in relevant venues in the last seasons, both in Spain and abroad. Recent and future commitments include concerts at Teatro Real in Madrid, Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid (in a concert sponsored by the UNO), Festsaal from Berlin’s Red Townhall, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Beethoven Haus in Bonn (Germany), Auditorio Miguel Delibes in Valladolid (Spain), Musik und Kongresshalle in Lübeck (Germany) or the Royal Academy of Fine Arts San Fernando in Madrid, or Fonseca Hall in Salamanca (Spain).
He has performed at the Clásicos en Verano Festival (Madrid Region), Lateinamerika Herbst (Hamburg), Schleswig-Holstein and Classical Beat festivals (in Germany), the International Spring Festival of the University of Salamanca (Spain), or the Música en Segura Festival (Jaén, Spain).
He has recorded piano music for the Spanish Public Radio and Television and has performed as a soloist with The Green Orchestra (under conductor Jose Luis Lopez Anton) in Salamanca, and with the Youth Orchestra of Leon (JOL at Auditorio Ciudad de León (in León, Spain), along conductor Fernando Ortiz.
He began his facet as a disseminator and communicator with a talk about music at TED Talks. Since 2018 he is a regular collaborator on Radio Clásica, with the El Piano en Vivo, in the radio show ‘Sinfonía de la Mañana’. Since 2019 he has presented several spaces on this station: “Open your Ears”, “Célebres desconocidxs” or “Temas de música”.
Dario has been artistically trained in Spain and Germany, at the conservatories of Castile and Leon, Hochschule für Musik Freiburg and Musikhochschule Lübeck, there as a fellow of the Wardwell program of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, under the direction of Professor Konrad Elser. He has also been awarded scholarships by the German DAAD program, the MusikERkennen program and the Possehl Foundation (Germany).
Masterclasses and courses by Josep Colom, Ferenc Rados, Joaquín Soriano, Pavel Gililov, Eldar Nebolsin, Elza Kolodin, Boris Berman, Tibor Szász, Bernd Glemser, Casals Quartet and Yago Mahúgo (harpsichord and fortepiano) round up his training. He currently keeps on learning new ways on the path of improvisation with Emilio Molina and the Institute of Musical Education (Spain).
In 2022 he takes part in the first ‘Gabriela Montero Piano Lab’ program of the Orchestra of the Americas, with mentoring by pianist and improviser Gabriela Montero. Darío has received a great personal and artistic influence from Gabriela.
In the field of modern music, he published the EP “Chamber songs” in 2021 together with the ensemble “Hazel Quartet”, and has performed with musicians such as Javier Limón, Israel Suárez “El Piraña”, the violinist Layth Sidiq or the Uruguayan pianist Luciano Supervielle.
He has been professor for improvisation and piano accompaniment at the University of Music in Salamanca (COSCYL) since 2019.
